  Charles Henry Fichter was born March 17, 1893, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to Ignatious Edward Fichter and Martha Catherine (nee Klaus) Fichter. He was the brother of Joseph, Martha, Mary, and Walter. He married Ila Pease in Chicago; their marriage was blessed by one son, Frank Charles; they divorced in 1929. He married Rena Karnes about 1935. Charles was a mechanic by trade, and opened a garage and service station in Adams county in the early 1930s. He was elected chief of the Friendship volunteer fire department in 1938. He also ran the Gamble agency store in Friendship, and served as representative for the Adams County Chamber of Commerce during the late 1960s. Charles died January 11, 1983, in Adams County, Wisconsin.
