Sam Melby - obit

Melby of Thunder Hawk
passed away Saturday

Sam Melby, Thunder Hawk hotel proprietor, passed away Saturday
after lingering illness caused by cancer.
The deceased lived for a number of years in the Grand Valley
country. He, with his family came to Thunder Hawk about a year
ago to conduct the hotel, which they purchased at that time.
Mr. Melby was about 56 years of age and leaves to mourn his death
- a widow and two sons and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the American Lutheran Church in
this city Monday afternoon, Rev. Munkold officiating, and
interment was made in the local cemetery. The service was
attended by a large number of old neighbors and friends. The
beautiful floral offerings were true evidence of the esteem in which
the deceased was held.
