Notater - Ernest Harry Bauer, 63, of Lewiston, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center after a prolonged illness. Ernest was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Chicago, to Ernest Henry and Florence Bauer. He was raised and educated in Chicago, eventually earning a bachelor's degree.
Ernest was married to Brenda (Harper), who survives at the family home. He worked for more than 30 years with the state of Idaho finally as the executive director of the Board of Scaling Practices. He has been named as the Boss of the Year since 2003.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Brenda Bauer; a daughter, Kerry Bauer; granddaughters Kyra Hantke, Ariel Hantke and Michelle Scheuermann; sisters Roseanna M. Koper, Kathleen M. Costa, Laurette M. Cowan, Diana M. Scramuzzo, Judith M. Bauer, Monica Bauer and Lisa Bauer; and brothers Thomas M. Bauer, Stephen J. Bauer and Randal P. Bauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Florence Bauer; a son, Jeff Jendrycka; and a sister, Sharon M. Downing.
Memorial donations may be made to Brenda Bauer. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. today at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home.
