SULLIVAN, LAWRENCE, (78), THS Class of 1951, passed away on November 17, 2011, following massive complications after surgery at Staten Island University Hospital. Mr. Sullivan was born on Staten Island and was a lifelong islander. He had lived in Great Kills for over 40 years with his wife, Norma (Bugge), where they raised their children, now Kathy Sullivan Travers of West Brighton and Brian Sullivan of Tottenville. Mr. Sullivan was pre-deceased by his various siblings, including his sister, Joan Sullivan Tenny, in 2010 and is survived by one remaining sister, Patricia Sullivan Meldrum (THS 1946), of Melbourne, Florida and Laconia, New Hampshire. Mr. Sullivan is also survived by his four beautiful grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, including his late sister Joan's children, Patricia Reischour, Susan Carson, Barbara Schierenbeck, William Reischour and Lori Muldoon. Mr. Sullivan served in the US Army during the Korean War and was sent to Germany. He became a wire lather and worked in the construction industry during his entire working life. He was an adventurous, fun-loving person, and enjoyed many trips to Bermuda where he went scuba-diving, and enjoyed motor-cycling and playing softball. He was an enthusiastic boat owner for many years and was a lifelong member of the Staten Island Yacht Club of Great Kills.
